Among the many services provided by our team of qualified and professional anaesthetist, we bring modern innovations in the field of anaesthesiology providing you with quality pain control services that include:
This is a regional form of anaesthesia that is employed in various surgeries that include; caesarean sections, hernia surgeries, hysterectomies and a host of other pelvic surgeries. It produces anaesthetic effect from below the upper abdomen. It generally involves the injection of a local anaesthetic in the space between the 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae (at the lower back). Headache and pain at the site of injection are two common complaints that may be associated with this procedure.
Labour can now be a painless experience thanks to modern day innovations in the field of anaesthesia and this is what has given rise to epidural anaesthesia in labour. Epidural anaesthesia like spinal anaesthesia is also a form of regional anaesthesia and it is effective in the control of labour pains.
Many surgeries that would generally be intolerable because of the pain and reflexes associated with them are now possible with general anaesthesia. General anaesthesia is a medically induced and reversible state of unconsciousness, used to provide patients with a pain-free surgical experience.
Our anaesthetic team is also well equipped to provide intensive care unit (ICU) services to adults. Services like continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), Ventilator and arterial blood gas analyser are part of the care that can be rendered in our ICU.
We also offer Patient Controlled Anaesthesia (PCA) which helps patients to be able to administer anaesthesia to themselves in keeping with their pain threshold while they are on admission.
